The Working Group has been in existence since the Winter Semester 2010/2011 and was founded by members of the former "Forschungsschwerpunkt reelle Geometrie und Algebra" (Real Geometry and Algebra research group) with an interest in Model Theory.
In the Winter Semester 2010/2011, the main topics were "Definable Valuations" and "Dependent Fields".
Starting in the Summer Semester 2011, the Oberseminar provides a venue for talks in Model Theory and related topics. Since Summer Semester 2018 the Working Group and the Oberseminar are called "Mathematical Logic, Set theory and Model theory" and cover also topics from Logic and Set theory.
