Abstract: We discuss an epidemic model which takes into account both the age and the spatial location of the individuals. We begin with a detailed construction of the model, merging three equations together into one to include all aspects we want to study. This leads to a nonlinear second-order differential equation with an implicit boundary condition. The linearized equation can be treated in two ways, one allowing the treatment of the boundary condition, the other giving us a way to obtain a solution for the nonlinear equation. We also present numerical simulations of the model equation and show interesting effects for different initial parameters.
