Abstract: This talk is devoted to a generalization of Sobolev spaces which gives an extended scale of inner product spaces. The spaces are parametrized with a function parameter depending on the frequency variables. We discuss some applications of these spaces to interpolation between Hilbertspaces, elliptic equations, spectral theory, and parabolic equations. These generalized spaces become useful in the case where the Sobolev scale is too rough for a number of problems in analysis and PDEs.
