Abstract: In this talk we discuss the mathematical modeling and stability of beams of Timoshenko type under viscoelastic and thermoelastic effects. We first deal with a viscoelastic model whose dissipation acts on the shear force by using linear constitutive laws in viscoelasticity. Then, we are going to discuss a thermo-viscoelastic model where a thermal law is applied for the shear force whereas a viscoelastic law is considered on the bending moment. Some initial stability results are presented.
