Abstract: In this talk we will first give an introduction to the field of random Schrödinger operators, a standard framework for the study of disordered quantum systems. This theory was originally developed to explain rigorously the absence of electron propagation in random media, a phenomenon known as Anderson localization. We will then review some recent results on how this theory can be applied to study the propagation of electrons in aperiodic media, as for example, in quasi-crystals.
