We know how to measure smoothness of a function (for example: how many times is it differentiable), but how does one measure the smoothness of a measure?
This talk, intended for a general mathematical audience, will be devoted to a survey of this topic, with many examples. I will also talk a bit about my career path and some recent initiatives concerning women in mathematics that I have been involved with.
