New Paper Published
My lastest paper "A new convex integration approach for the compressible Euler equations and failure of the local maximal dissipation criterion" has been published by Nonlinearity, see here.
Using convex integration one is able to generate a multitude of solutions to the compressible Euler equations with the same initial data. At least for the initial data which are considered in this paper, only one of these solutions seems to be physically meaningful. It is shown in this paper that local maximal energy dissipation does not select the expected solution. In order to prove this, it was necessary to develop a new convex integration approach.
